CUBE
- A cube is a three dimensional shape that features all right angles and a height, width and depth that are all equal.
- *A cube has 6 square faces.
- *A cube has 8 points (vertices).
- *A cube has 12 edges.
RECTANGULAR PRİSM
*A cuboid is a box-shaped object.
*It has six flat sides and all angles are right angles.
*And all of its faces are rectangles.
*It is also a prism because it has the same cross-section along a length. In fact it is a rectangular prism.
- *A rectangular prism has 6 square faces.
- *A rectangular prism has 8 points (vertices).
- *A rectangular prism has 12 edges.
TRİANGULAR PRİSM
A triangular prism is a prism designed of two triangular bases and three rectangular sides. Triangular prism is a polyhedron with two congruent and parallel bases. All cross-sections parallel to the base faces are the same as triangle.
Number of faces: 5
Number of edges: 9
Number of vertices: 6
CYLİNDER
A cylinder is a closed solid that has two parallel (usually circular) bases connected by a curved surface.
*It has a flat base and a flat top
*The base is the same as the top, and also in-between
*It has one curved side
*Because it has a curved surface it is not a polyhedron.
CONE
A cone is a three-dimensional geometic shape. It consists of a base having the shape of a circle and a curved side (the lateral surface) ending up in a tip called the apex or vertex.
*A solid that has a circular base and a single vertex.
*A cone is a solid that has a circular base and a a single vertex. If the vertex is over the center of the base, it is called a right cone. If it is not, it is called an oblique cone. An object that is shaped like a cone is said to be 'conical'.
SPHERE
A sphere is a solid of geometry. The surface of the sphere, the periphery, consists of an infinite number of consecutive points, all positioned at the same distance from the spheres center point.
The size of the sphere is defined by the radius, the distance between the center point and the periphery.
The diameter of the sphere is the length of a line between two points on the periphery passing through the sphere’s center. The diameter is twice the radius.
It is perfectly symmetrical
It has no edges or vertices (corners)
It is not a polyhedron
